The Blood Transfusion Services of the Directorate General of Health & Family Welfare Govt. of India is hosting a nationwide event to celebrate National Voluntary Blood Donation Day on 1st October 2025 with the aim to encourage more people to donate blood regularly, optimize blood collection with Slogan “Give Blood Give Hope: Together we save Lives”.
The Nationwide Mega Voluntary Blood Donation Drive will be organized from 17th Sept. to 2nd Oct., (Gandhi Jayanti) 2025 during Seva Pakhwada. The aim is to maximum donor registrations.
The Secretary of Health and Family Welfare has directed to ensure widespread outreach through voluntary organizations, NGOs, Indian Red Cross Society, Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad etc. These organisations are requested to participate actively in the campaign to make it successful.
All Red Cross States/ UT Branches are requested to raise awareness in rural community, conduct blood donation camps, events honouring blood donors and to administer pledge-taking ceremonies at village level.
The pledge may also be administered by the Sarpanch and Village head. The pledge is available in English, Hindi and regional language.
